My name is Michael Bruno and I was born and raised in San Francisco. I have been a professional scenic and street photographer since 2019. I recently came back to the city where I grew up after a move to Kings Beach that lasted 10 years. Before my return to the City I had my images featured in multiple galleries and outlets around Lake Tahoe, some of which still show my work. Prior to my departure to the lake, I attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where I studied photography and fine art. Before that I owned and operated Albona Ristorante Istriano in North Beach, where we were consistently rated as one of the best Italian and overall restaurants in San Francisco.
My other education includes the University of Portland where I graduated with a BA in Marketing/Management, and previous to that I graduated from St. Ignatius College Preparatory. It was in 7th grade at Town School where I learned how to use a camera and develop in a dark room. I currently shoot with a digital camera, but look forward to returning to my film roots.
Since arriving back home to San Francisco I have been a part of multiple First Friday art walks throughout the City, and had my first San Francisco gallery showing at 2358MRKT in January 2024. My interests continue to expand and evolve, but my passion for photography and how it can make me and others feel through the lens of my camera is everlasting.
